The world wants you distracted. The Machine wants you bickering over the salsa.
Look at the image from my post this weekend. It’s a literal table made of cash. It’s a reminder that while society is ‘volleying’ over celebrities and political outrage, the most successful entities on the planet are stacking revenue in silence.
In my book Momentum & Mastery, I describe Momentum as a delicate state that is easily broken by “Environmental Noise.”
Most business owners are currently being “played by the game”. They think they are staying ‘informed’ or ‘engaged,’ but they are actually just fueling someone else’s revenue with their outrage. If you want to move from Drift to Drive, you have to become a Master of your own Attention.
The Science of Defensive Focus
To protect your momentum in 2026, you must stop being a consumer of the noise and start being the architect of the Machine.
How to stop bickering over the salsa and start stacking the table:
- Audit Your Outrage: If it doesn’t affect your P&L or your family’s well-being, it is a distraction. Period.
- Watch the Game, Don’t Play It: When you see a viral “controversy,” ask yourself: “How is this distracting my target audience, and how can I provide the value they are currently ignoring?”
- The Momentum Firewall: Your morning shouldn’t start with a news feed; it should start with your WRAP Sheet. Protect the first 90 minutes of your day from the “Machine’s” influence.
The market doesn’t pay for your opinion on the latest trend. It pays for your ability to show up as a Qualified Champion and solve problems while everyone else is distracted.
